This is Your Time, Artists.

Nature. Ain't she gorgeous?

Nature. Ain't she gorgeous?

This is your time, artists. And we need you.

If you are overcome by fear and anxiety this week, pause and take a breath. Forgive yourself for being human. Consider what you can control and what you cannot. Name what you're grateful for. Remember that you have power. Power to take care of yourself, power to help others, power to be an example. When you give in to panic, you deplete that power.

Then remember the world needs you. We need your creativity, compassion, and attention to help us see what we're missing. We need you to help us fill in the gaps and come up with new solutions to meet new needs.

We are living in unprecedented times, my friends. Incredible things are made and discovered during periods of uncertainty -- when we are pushed up against a wall and asked to re-consider how everything works or how it's not working. This is when we do our best work. I call these conditions 'enabling constraints.' These are seemingly restrictive circumstances that force new ideas to come forward. They empower decisions... if you let them.

So while you're at home this week, consider:

How can your creativity be in service to you?
And how can it be in service to others?

Can you create something that fosters connection?
Offers hope and possibility?
Creates a sense of calm?
Brings attention to something we're missing?
Serves a population that really needs some help?

To be in service to y'all, I'll be offering free 1-hour 'mindset coaching' calls, every Monday for a month. I'm calling it 'Mindset Mondays.' Our first session is next Monday the 23rd at 12pm CT.

As a group, we'll do some journaling and pause to recognize that our thoughts are the biggest thing we can control. Through reflection, we'll consider how we can focus on the creative opportunities of this challenging time. Drop in if you need some support.

We need you. So take care of yourselves.
